Default Almost 50 Days NO GREENCARD YET!

Hey there all. I've still waiting!! No Greencard yet. Called the 1800
line and latest status is Approved... Got the Welcome letter like
October 20th!
What's gonna happen now? Still Wait?

I got the Stamp so i don't have to worry about it but SSN cannot be
updated. NEW LAW requires Actual Card...

Hi Airborne,

Not much else to do but wait it out. You have the stamp in your
passport, so you can travel. There's no rush to get the SS card
changed...we didn't even update my husband's SS card until about a year
after he got his green card.

Hang in there.

Patience.

A 50 day - well you're not actually at 50 days yet, you say - wait
isn't uncommon.

My suggestion - Should 90 days pass and you've no card yet, make an
InfoPass appt and go check out what's going on ...

Mine never arrived. I had to file i-90 and pay for a new one. I've yet
to have my biometrics taken AGAIN. Even though it was only a couple of
months ago I had them done. My welcome letter and greencard both failed
to arrive. I got the emails saying they had been sent, but that was all.
I made an INFOPASS appointment and they looked up on the computer the
date the card was allegedly posted, it was obvious from this date that I
wasn't going to get it (5 weeks had passed). Try calling the mis-
information line again and see if they can check the date your GC was
posted - at the immigration office they could give me this information.

Its a good idea to register to receive notifications by email on
www.uscis.gov, that way you have at least some way of knowing when
things happened. I got an email today to say a letter had been sent to
me to tell me the process for replacing my greencard, it was posted
Friday so hoepfull I'll get it some time this week.

A word of advice - if they say they sent it, it is pointless trying to
use 'box b' on i-90 (this box says you never got the card and hence
don't need to send payment). I was told if their computer shows they
sent it, then its lost - and you pay!

Unless you can get someone at USCIS to call the PONDS unit to see if
your card was returned to them. If it was, they'll verify your address
and send it out again, if they still have it.

I am unsure what this PONDS system or area is. When I made my INFOPASS
they checked on the computer and said "it hasn't been returned"; Now, I
am thinking this is PONDS he was referring to. Did we ever get word of
what the acronym stands for? How does one check PONDS? Do you make an
INFOPASS, call the 1-800 number, hire an attorney, etc.

Matt Udall posted about PONDS not too long ago, in fact I think it was
in answer to your post regarding this same issue. Check back through
the forum posts and dig up what Matt Udall said about it...

PONDS = Post office non-deliverable system
