Default After interview? PRV Family class

My husband recently had his interview for a Permanent Resident Visa
(...overseas applicant)... I was wondering how long it might take for
him to receive a passport request? (are background checks usually
complete at this time?)

The interview went very well, so we are not
worried about that!

His medicals are already done and his right of
landing fee paid.

thanks in advance, sayaka

Good, because you mentioned his medicals etc. but not yours. Depending on
his citizenship it may still take some months to complete his file.

Thanks so much for your answer Jim... It sounds as if you think that
they haven't even started his background check yet... That's too bad.

I just hope "some months" can mean 2 and not 12...
