Default Affidavit of Support....

Hi all,

Just a little paranoid about this Affidavit of Support.
Angie's mum will be my sponsor as she doesn't earn enough yet, she
graduates this month.

She's provided me with:

- A notarised I-134
affidavit of support form
- Letter from employer, on headed paper
stating her job, salary, role etc
- 3 X Photocopies of her tax "Form
1040" for years 2003,2002,2001
- Letter from bank stating her
stock/share portfolio
- Photocopies of Bank Statements
- Photocopies of
Pay checks

What i'm wondering is do all the photocopies have to be
notarised or just the I-134? Should I get Angies mum to write a letter
stating all photocopies are copys of original documents, like Angie did
with the I-129f package?

Sorry for my paranoia but i can't afford for
there to be any problems with my London interview as we are cutting it
real fine.

Thanks in advance

James

The 134 has to be notarized for
sure, but if you can get all notarised, should be ok as well, though,
you might not need them to be.

Hi,

I only had the actual form I-134 notarized. I sent in photocopies
of all the backup you just mentioned, and all went fine. I brought
originals of everything to the interview, but they never asked for
anything.

Best Wishes!
Rene

We only had the I-134 notarized
too, and everything else was a photocopy. We also filled out the form
stating that all photocopies are of original documents...sorry I can't
remember what form this is though. We had no problems at the Paris
Consulate - as a matter of fact they only asked for the I-134 and letter
of employment from my employer during my husband's K1 interview. Good
luck to you!

Right, do you think that getting her mum to fill in a form saying they
are copies of originals is necessary or not?

No it is not necessary. Only
the I-134 form has to be notarized.

Also, I hope you remembered that
even though Angie does not make enough to sponsor you herself, she still
has to fill out an I-134 and provide documentation!

Good luck with the
interview! It'll be a piece of cake!

Cheers,
Jamie

sunflwrgrl13,

Yeah I heard that, but according to
London they only want the primary sponsor? I'm going to be safe though
and bring both!

Oh yeah, also I got the 1040 tax forms, but I don't
think i have W2's. What are these and are they required?

James

I sent tax transcripts (copies of
tax returns from IRS) and didn't send any of my W-2's. W-2's are a doc
that you receive from your employer. It states how much you made for the
year, and how much you paid in all the different types of taxes. Scott
told me that they didn't even look at my tax transcripts. They just
looked at my employer letter and my bank letter and didn't ask any
questions, even though I didn't make above the poverty guidelines in the
previous 2 years.

The W2s are generally required when you have a joint tax return, and only 1
person is doing the supporting. The W2s would be used, in such case, to
separate the income of the 2 taxpayers. You can read this on the I-864
instructions. I would think this also applies when tax returns are required
for the I-134.
