Default Advance parole

Hello

My husband and I send all the papers for change of status (I130, I485), EAD
and advance parole in the same district office. I had my EAD appointment and
fingerprint taken 2 weeks ago. I got my employment authorization card right
away and I'm still waiting for my advance parole paper. The appointment
letter was the only papers that I receive from the INS. I didn't get any
receipt number. There was an A# (8 digits number) on the appointment letter
but this number doesn't allow me to check status online. Does anybody know
how long it will take to get the advance parole? Can I check my status with
this A#?

Thank you for your help!

Which district office did you file with? Have you checked the online
pages to see what the processing time is for an AP at this office?

Kind regards,

Eiolf

I filed in Spokane, WA. They are processing files they received before
mine. I don't trust their timing because they shouldn't have processed
my work autorization yet neither.
Do you know why it is taking more time to get advance parole?
I'm just dying to go home and introduce my husband to my family and
friends, and celebrate my wedding there before the little baby that
has just been conceived starts to show...
Thanks

First of all, congrats on the baby!! We have ours on the way as well
(due date May 25th) so we are just as eager to go home to my see my
family and show off the bun.

I checked the web site for the Spokane office ( ]https://egov.immig-
ration.gov/graphics/cris/jsps/officeProcesstimes.jsp?selectedOffice=76[-
/url] ) and it does seem that they are quicker with their EAD
processings than they are with the AP.

I don't have a lot of experience reading these processing times, but I
believe I read in another post that they are fairly accurate. So, if
you filed the AP documents around or before August 31, 2003, you should
be getting very close to getting a notice letter in the mail.

As far as I know you will not be able to check the specific status of
your case (since you filed with a district office and thus you received
an 8-digit A# - same as me). Unfortunately, that leaves you to use the
CIS' web site with their processing times, or ask for the experiences of
others who filed at the same office. You could also be bold (like me
:-) and call their office and ask for the AP Clerk and see if he/she can
help find your AP application and determine the status.

In any case, best of luck to all of you, and I'm keeping my fingers
crossed that everything will work out quickly!

Best wishes,

Eiolf

Congrats to you to!
Ours is due July 20th.

I saw that too.

I filled it in later (October). But they also say that they are
processing the work authorization submitted September 21st and I
already have it for 2 weeks. Furthermore they told us that both AP and
EAD take 1 month to be processed.
Anyways, it's not that bad, I just don't understand why it is such a
big deal. One should be allowed to go out of the country for a short
period of time without all of this trouble.
Before I got married I could go anywhere anytime without any trouble
regards to the US customs...

Thank you for this information, I didn't know that.

I called the 800 number, but they couldn't tell me more that what you
just did. I will call them back and be more insistent if I don't hear
from them in a week.

Thank you and best wishes for you too!

Sounds like a good idea, but try calling the Spokane office directly at
(509) 353-2758 in stead of the 800 number.

Good luck, and keep us posted!

Best,

Thank you very much for this number, but it is out of date and doesn't
work. I will have to go there...

I will, thank again!
