Hi,

I'm a Canadian citizen that have recently landed a job with an NGO in NY. I qualify for a G4 Visa which I have applied and got interviewed on March 19. The Officer was very nice but told me that my family have their visas but for me, my file needs to go through administrative processing.

It's been 2 weeks now and my new employer is waiting for me...

Any one have gone through a similar situation and know how long Administrative Processing usually takes...

I have been going through the same process now. My interview was on 14th March in LONDON.

I called the Visas Department in Washing... and the lady told me that it takes 4 weeks to have this done but by reading other forums it can be actually six months to a year. But most of the forums does go back to 2005-06-07. I think it has all changed now. If you see my post on the same page as your you may find some links.

Good luck you might get an answer in few weeks..............

Hi Guys:

I also applied for a G4 visa and in the same situation. The consular official in ottawa told me they will contact me after some 'special processing'. Any idea of how long it takes? It is like I just came from US to get the visa and I am stuck in canada since beginning of march.

Hi guys

Just to let you know that after 1 month and 10 days I got my visa. Admin processing took only a month.
