Default Adjustment of status, advanced parole question

Hello all,

My wife arrived in NY in 2002 as a K1, and we filed the 495 in May 2002.
Recently, I looked on the BCIS website and noticed that they are processing
AOS applications rec'd in late June 2002. Since we haven't heard anything
from BCIS yet, I got worried. I called up and they said they were going to
put in an inquiry to check the status of the application. (We don't have a
receipt # so I can't check the status on the website myself). I was
wondering, could our going into Canada in September 2002, for 2 days only,
have an effect on the AOS application? I really hope not.

JR

just in case... we went into Canada by using the advanced parole papers...
we didn't sneak in or anything like that. We had no problems getting in or
out, just some waiting time at customs coming back into the US.

As long as you had advance parole, your trip to Canada will have
absolutely no effect on your AoS application. When I put in an inquiry
about my AoS application, it was 8 weeks before I got a response - but
it was a very positive response!

Good luck,

Ian
