Default activites, lodging in Miami when you don't drink

My friend and I (age is mid-40s) are spending 2 1/2 weeks in
Argentina/Chile, then we have arranged to spend 2 days in Miami on the
way back. Neither one of us drink or go to clubs, etc. We like
eating ethnic food, exploring back havens, meeting interesting people,
going to 12-step meetings.

I question whether South Beach is going to be the place for us. We'd
love to explore the more Cuban-oriented areas of the city, and maybe
not even have a car, etc.

Any advice on where we should stay, or what we should plan on doing?
We have 15-plus years of sobriety, so really drinking and partying
isn't going to tempt us.

This really depends on your budget. Check Expedia.com or other travel
sites. You'll find a hotels in South Beach in a wide range of prices.
You won't have any trouble finding lots of things to do in the Miami
area and there are tons of ethnic restaurants, esp. Cuban that might
interest you and your family.

Lisa,

Our Local Inter Group participated in a national / international listing
of meetings. Check around in your home group for information about how
you might find this listing. It might prove useful in Argentina and
Chile as well. Be advised that some of the meetings may have changed or
stopped. These listings rely on volunteers to keep them and groups to
provide information.

Aside from relaxing on the beach, Miami is a major city. You should be
able to find cultural events, theater and museums along with the sun
and sand.
