Default ACS - Question again

I received a letter from ACS stating:

I refer to your application for a pre-migration skills assessment, which
was received by ACS on 29 March 2005.

For the purpose of your application you have as of February 2003
satisfied the requirements of the ACS PIM 2, Group A.

blah ....blah

Your skills have been assessed to be suitable for migration under 2231-
19 of the ASCO Code, being the skilled occupation indicated that you
intend to nominate in a General Skilled Migration application.

My questions:
1- Is this the standard suitability letter?
2- I had applied for ASCO Code 2231-11 that too under RPL, is my group A
appropiate?
3- According to DIMIA, how much point I will able to make for work
experience, and how?

Many thanks to you all.

Hey Ozidream

Sorry, can't answer the question - haven't got that letter yet
(hopefully will though!).

Just wanted to say congratulation on passing!

I had the following in my letter

For the purpose of your application you have as at April 2002 satisfied
the requirements of the ACS PIM 2, Group B.

Your skills have been assessed to be suitable for migration under 2231-
13 of the ASCO Code.

So I think I am right in saying

1. Yes, this is the standard suitability letter

2. They have assessed you as ASCO code 2231-19 instead of what you
applied for ASCO Code 2231-11. I applied under ASCO Code 2231-11
and was positively assessed under ASCO Code 2231-13. In the end,
it doesn't actually matter what the ASCO Code is (well to a
certain level anyway), as long as the ASCO Code you have been
positively assessed as, is worth 60 points on the DIMIA list, then
you are laughing

2231-11 Systems Manager
2231-13 Systems Designer
2231-19 Systems Programmer

All worth 60 points

3. If your nominated occupation is worth 60 points under Skill, and you
have worked in your nominated occupation, or a closely related
occupation, for at least 3 of the 4 years immediately before you
apply, you get another 10 points. Work references are usually the way
forward for this

Hope this helps, and well done on the positive ACS assessment.

That sounds right to me.
1. My letter was similar too.
2. I'd agree with what you said. ACS have assessed you as having enough
work experience in occupation X so DIMIA will accept that. It's
standard practise for ACS to assess you under a different occupation
that the one you specified if they think it is more relevant.
3. If ACS says you have experience in occupation X, then I can't imagine
why DIMIA would argue. If your experience is 3 of the last 4 years,
then the recent work experience points should be yours.

Congrats on the 'suitable' :)

thanks pjwhitby, wwmoore

now my concern is on comment from ACS:

ACS - 'For the purpose of your application you have as of February 2003
satisfied the requirements of the ACS PIM 2, Group A'

do I need to get alarmed on Februaury 2003 thing? Will I be able to get
10 points from DIMIA if I apply in May 2005?

My experience since jan-99 uptil jan-2005 has been assessed as Systems
Engineer (ASCO Code 2231-19).

No this date is ignored by DIMIA. This is the date that the ACS say you
met the requirements but DIMIA will happily accept work experience from
before then.

Whats your opinion on Meds and PCC? Better we should wait for CO to ask
for or should we frontload it?

I haven't had the request yet but my PCC's went a couple of weeks ago
and I have my meds tomorrow - I intend to send the results straight
off to Oz.
