Default Acceptance of scanned police checks sent by email

Hi all,

just got both our police checks back and were about to send them to my
case officer at "The Visa Bureau" when he told me I could now scan them
into our computer and send him by email the scanned images. Don't know
if this is a "Visa Bureau" specific thing or OZ has finally arrived in
the 21st century . Anyhoo it should speed things up a little and take
away the anxiety of "did the post office lose it"

I would deffinetly scan them and send them that way. The Post Office
didn't loose mine, ASPC did! As far as I know they still haven't
found it yet!!

i got told the same thing by general ASPC helpline this week too - i was
asked to scan (in colour) my police check, my 1022 change of
circumstance form, extra employer reference etc! was very pleased - not
only cheaper but easier on the stress levels! don't have the email
address on me but will post it later if anyone wants it.

Yes the ever knowledgeable Mr Lombard put a post on here not long ago
which stated that DIMA will now accept either colour scanned copies of
original docs or black and white scanned copies of certificed docs. I
believe that DIMA would prefer these scanned versions rather than a raft
of original docs.

Right this may be slightly of topic and I did read Georges thread, what
happens when you send original photographs and things to prove marriage
do they return these or can these be scanned.

Hi Andrea,

They don't want any originals at all. If you do send originals they may
not get returned, it all depends on the case officer.
