One more thought....some AOS officers issue a conditional 2-year card to
a K-1 entrant, even if they've been married over 2 years. It's been
known to happen.

That doesn't make sense. A K-1 visa is for a fiance. If a couple has
been married 2 years, the non USC spouse would not be entering on a K-1.

I'm talking about at the AOS interview.

For example:
K-1 visa fiance enters in March 2007.
Marry and file AOS in April 2007.
AOS interview in May 2009 (highly unlikely, but you never know...)

In the above scenario, some offices may still issue a conditional GC,
simply because the immigrant entered on a K-1 visa.
