Default Abandoning Asylum Case Question

Hello,

I currently have an Asylum case pending (for more than 10 years) but I want
to abandon it and leave the country. Naturally, I don't want to become a
subject to the 10 year inadmissibility bar. My asylum application was not
frivolous and I've never engaged in employment without the EAD (I have a
valid EAD right now) so according to the current law 10-year bar shouldn't
apply to me.

1. My question is, do I have to contact INS regarding my abandoning the
asylum case and leaving the country or it is OK to just leave?
2. If I decide to go to US again in the future, I will have to prove to the
consular officer that I am not a subject to the 10 year bar, correct? Do you
think it will be difficult to do? Any experience, anybody?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you very much!
