Default 2 US Citizen Kids (one is Canadian landed immigrant) ...can they travel on US passpor

One of my kid WHO IS A US CITIZEN was included in PR application
and Landed with us in 2004. Although me and my wife got the PR cards,
his card was not mailed to us because of faulty picture. Now that we
are going to Canada for good, will he be able to cross the border (or
fly in ) by using his US PASSPORT and then we can apply for his PR
card in Canada? or we HAVE TO obtain the travel document for him from
embassy before he can travel?

We have a baby girl WHO IS ALSO A US CITIZEN. She was born after
our landing and of course we can not apply for her PR till we are in
Canada. Now that we are finally moving, will she be able to cross the
border (or fly in) by using her US PASSPORT? One in Canada, of course
we will apply for her PR.

Miller or Jim or anyone else who can help.

Thanks
