Default 136 skilled timescale?

Hi, I was wondering if anyone knew what the current processing time for
a Nurse on the SOL is. I have tried to look at the DIMIA website but it
doesn't give you the timescale for the 136 visa. I would use the search
feature on this forum but it is not working at present

Thanks in advance,
Tiawamutu

That may be close if the person front-loads (or does unrequested)
medicals and PCC and there is nothing else requested by the CO when the
application is evaluated. The 4-6 month figure (16+ weeks) is about the
length of time people are waiting for CO allocation and Med/PCC requests
to come through from DIMIA. If you don't front load then add on 2-3
months to get the meds/pcc done once you get the requests and then have
DIMIA review them. Being a nurse which is on the MODL may buy you a bit
of quicker processing, but it doesn't seem to be much better (if at all)
than non-MODL 136 apps at the moment.

Cheers,
Brian

Hi again,

Have you tried looking in the nurses section here in BE. Particularly
Gary and family in ''who's patiently waiting part 2''

There are many replies to his thread and he is keeping an updated
register of nursing applications that post to him.

Find it here: http://www.krazy-koalas.com/timeline.htm

In the following extract you can see the current response from Dimia
(this Monday to a recent application as posted on an August
application thread):

''Our 136 Application arrived in Oz on August 23rd and we got an email
yesterday morning saying the following (cut down a little bit)'':

>>>>>Your application will be assessed in approximately four months and
>>>>>your case officer will contact you at this time to advise you of
>>>>>the next stage in the process.

The approximate processing time for Skilled Migration applications is 6
months if it is on the MODL or is being processed under one of the
regional categories. For all other categories the approximate processing
time is 9 months.<<<<<<

I hope these help.

Best wishes,

Lian and Jon
