Default Is a '129 petition' necessary for a business visa?

I think we've decided to try for the business visa, as it looks like
it's the only one he can possibly get at this time. (Without waiting
another 2-3 months) Since we're scheduled for speaking engagements, etc.
he really does have 'business' here. I'm curious though; if we follow
the suggestion of many people on these forums who have said he should
apply for a visitors visa (since we aren't planning on
living/immigrating to the US) and get married during his 'visit' here,
then how do we handle the marriage license? Although we don't plan on
living in the US, we will be visiting every other year or so, to give
reports on our work in India. Will we have problems in the future, if we
get married while he visits using a business/visitors visa, rather than
through the fiancee visa?

I am hoping he can get some sort of multiple-entry visa later on, so
that when we make our visits to the US, we don't have to travel to the
consulate every time to apply for a new visa. (Will we have to apply for
a multiple-entry visa by way of a spouse visa or what?) I'm trying to
understand the consequences we'll have to deal with regarding our final
decision. Any help?

DT,

If you only plan to marry in the US, but not live here, then what visa
your fiance uses to enter the US is not relevant to the marriage.

Don't ask what happens if you subsequently change your minds and decide
that you want him to stay....

Regards, JEff

Doesn't the "sponsoring organisation" have to be listed for a business
visa? Some friends of a friend of my hubby's are on tour over here in
the US and the booking agency was the one listed as their visa sponsor.

I'm not sure what you mean, but if I understand correctly, yes there
does have to be a main 'organization' that is connected to the
'business' in the country that he's visiting from. The 'sponsoring
organization' in our case are actually two Christian ministries that
have been handling donations, sponsoring orphans (my fiancee and his
family run an orphanage in India) and organize missions trips to help
on projects in India. Both of the US organizations have written
letters inviting him and stating that they wish to sponsor/host him
during his visit.
