Default 100K investment bond by post or email?

How do they send the investment bond request to you? Is it by post or
email nowadays? We've been told that our CO will be 'writing' to us this
week to request it, which indicates I should be looking for a yellow
envelope, but not sure if she would 'write' an email instead.

As no one else has responded yet, i thought i would bounce this back
up to the top, and wish you all the best. Hope they come back to you
this week.

I got an email to say it was coming but you must wait for the original
document before proceeding. This came 5 days later and was today
dispatched back to Oz :)

Thanks wmoore. Nice to know what order it happens in.

Seeing as I have been told the CO will be writing to me, I am now
wondering if she will email me, or just send the stuff. If I'm lucky,
she may have sent the stuff on the day that I emailed the manager,
although that would be asking a little too much I reckon.

thanks again

I checked the date on my letter - it was mailed out the same day as we
got the email.

Thanks. Very interesting. That means that I would receive it this
Thursday. I'll be keeping a good lookout for that. Gives a little time
for that rates to go back up, although I have a sneaky suspicion that
they won't be heading up for a while.

They are supposed to be heading up but I've no idea when. My $100k cost
me £42553.19 today with HIFX.

A small price to pay for the visa eh? ;)

Out of curiousity, what rates are the bonds offering at the moment?

Am I correct in thinking that they state then sends you a confirmation
letter, which you then return to DIMIA?

I went with WA at 5.2%. NT was 5.3% but I found their info slightly
less helpful.

When you receive from 1134 from DIMIA, you fill in page 2 and the
treasury fills in page 3. The treasury then sends this directly to DIMIA
and a certificate for your bond back to you.
