Default "Canada" "visa extension" "single entry" "to" "multiple entry"

Dear Experts:

I have my father in Canada as a Visitor Visa ( Single Entry ). We want
to extend his stay to another six months. Can we change the "single
entry" "to" "multiple entry" when applying for extention?

Thanks all

If you apply for an extension you are not getting a visa but an extension of
his present stay. If he leaves before the end of that extension the
extension expires immediately.
